Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Our tradition has become to send out our yearly update letter and picture in February to avoid the pressure to get it completed before Christmas and to give you something to look forward to in February! J We hope and pray this letter finds you well, at peace and enjoying all of the blessings God has bestowed upon you.

2009 was a year of blessings. You celebrated our marriage with us, the most wonderful and amazing event. It was so special to have so many of our loved ones supporting us. We thoroughly enjoyed our Smoky Mountain, Tennessee Honeymoon and had a blast celebrating our first Christmas together as a married couple and forming new traditions.

Tyson has taken great pleasure in the fact that his house is no longer a bachelor pad. He loves the “womanly touch” that I have brought with me into our home. He is also benefiting from the fact that I love to cook! He has said good-bye to picking up Subway for dinner or eating frozen meals! J I have loved cooking for my Sweetie and am blessed that he even likes to help with dinner (i.e. picking up something and bringing it home) when he wants to give me a break and allow me to relax. (Isn’t he great?)

Tyson continues to thrive in his work. He has a special gift when it comes to understanding computers, designing websites and being able to help others with computer issues. He took a class at San Antonio College in the fall to get him working toward his A+ Certificate Training, which would allow him to grow in his field of expertise by understanding computer networks and software at a deeper level. His current project is to learn how to develop and design iPhone applications. One of these days, he will have some created! He takes a web-based class 2 nights a week to learn this process. He is also currently working on some website design projects.

I have had fun creating a new home in San Antonio. There have been some adjustments: traffic, allergies, and large crowds everywhere! However, allergy medicine, prayer and trying to keep a positive attitude is helping. I love coming home to Tyson everyday as we continue to grow and learn about each other and share life together. While we enjoy sharing life together, our animals, Lucy & Rosie, are not. They have learned to tolerate each other, but are definitely not lovey dovey. J I also enjoy being closer to family. It is so wonderful having most of Tyson’s family here in San Antonio and being closer to Juanelle, my dad, sister and grandmothers. We’ve loved the fact that we can go to our nieces and nephews soccer and basketball games and be around to hang out with them and baby sit. Becoming an instant aunt has been a blessing for me! I love it!

I absolutely love my job at the Education Service Center, Region 20. I am an educational specialist in the special education department. I would tell you it is a dream job—a job that I hoped and prayed that one day I would find. It has allowed me to use my gifts and creative energy in a different realm in education. Everyday I get to work with a fine group of professionals that care about education. I work with Districts and teachers to help them grow professionally, and to help them become better teachers/administrators to the students they serve. I provide staff development trainings, one-on-one support and resources to Districts and teachers that need assistance. Every day is different and unique and busy! I love it. It has been very fulfilling and a huge blessing. I am also the contact for parent coordination meaning that I work to also provide support and trainings specifically geared for parents that have children with special needs.

Tyson and I are still searching for a church home and that place of community where we can grow spiritually, serve, love and be loved. Please pray for us. We are so thankful for the many blessings in our life. We know they are from God and are humbled that He chooses to bless us in so many wonderful ways. You are a blessing to us as well. We love you. We miss you and we look forward to keeping in touch. We pray for you. We do believe 2010 will be a year of love, blessings & favor from the Lord for you and for us! Believe it. See what God does!
